I didn’t set out to write about divorce.
Or abuse.
Or coming out at 35.
I started writing because there were stories I couldn’t stop carrying.
For years, I explained away what hurt. I minimized it. Made excuses for it. Wondered if I was simply asking for too much. My body knew something was wrong long before my mind could find the words for it.
Eventually, I stopped trying to make my experiences fit into stories that made other people comfortable.
I started telling the truth instead.
Already Knew is a collection of those truths.
You’ll find essays about emotional abuse that doesn’t always look like abuse. About motherhood, identity, grief, healing, and the strange courage it takes to leave a life that no longer fits. You’ll also find stories about joy. About falling in love again. About coming home to myself after spending years trying to become someone I wasn’t.
I don’t write because I have everything figured out.
I write because I know what it feels like to believe you’re the only one.
If you’ve ever questioned your own reality…
If you’ve ever wondered why leaving felt impossible…
If you’ve ever realized your body understood something before your mind did…
I hope you find a little of yourself here.
